Purpose

Teachers learn to teach an all-levels Vinyasa class with an emphasis on philosophy and Bhakti, designed so that you feel your lifestyle has changed.

What to expect

An opportunity for trainees to immerse themselves in the Science of Yoga, from the behavioral to the physical to the spiritual, through daily sadhana, practice, and association. You will develop a variety of Yogic tools for transforming your life, and learn to create a safe and nurturing space for your students. Students should expect to promptly show up at every session with an open mind and an open heart, ready to confront the challenges set before them.

Style/Lineage

Bhakti Yoga, the highest form of Yoga, is the path by which one can reconnect with God through loving devotional service. This program is deeply rooted in the Gaudiya Vaishnava Tradition, as lead teacher Sita Sundari Dasi (Cindy Lunsford) studies and practices under her teacher Raghunath Cappo. The style is a Bhakti Vinyasa flow that follows a 7-phase sequence: grounding and centering, sun salutes and warm up, complex flows, balancing, backbends and/or inversions, cool down, and savasana. This lineage recognizes that our external worlds are merely reflections of our inner worlds and that actual self-realization and self-transformation begin by turning inward. Incorporating Vedic wisdom, the training emphasizes the paths of yoga as depicted in the Bhagavad Gita: Bhakti, Karma, and Jnana - for personal development
