Purpose
The purpose of this course is to provide a deeper education of yoga. It is the equivalent of getting more education after your bachelors degree. In this course we will delve deeper into intermediate, advanced asana, meditation, and yogic philosophy. We will also learn the niche courses of: restorative yoga, pre-natal yoga, and partner yoga. After this completion of this course you will have a comfort level in teaching in all of these niche areas.
What to expect
In this course already certified teachers will have the opportunity to take advantage of the knowledge of Melissa Boyd a teacher with over 30 years experience in teaching movement and explore her expertise in dealing with injuries in a post rehab environment. We will further explore the teaching through the lens of B.K.S. Iyengar's exploration of asana, form and alignment, as well as take on Eknath Easwaran's interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita, and the Upanishads.
Style/Lineage
Melissa Boyd's course is created with her experience in the methodology of B.K.S. Iyengar and her experience with studying under the tutelage of Judith Lasater, as well as the Hatha lineage of Lex Gillan, and the meditations of Ram Das. She also has an extensive background in post rehab experience in Polestar Pilates, and is a trained dance teacher.
