Monique Allen
Yoga Activated™ is an alignment driven and joint informed method that integrates depth psychology and somatic awareness. I teach students how to build durable mobility, regulate their nervous system, and lead themselves with confidence on and off the mat.
Current influences
As a lifelong student of the human psyche, my work is shaped by teachers and thinkers who explore consciousness, meaning, and the interior landscape. I draw deeply from Christopher Wallis, whose Recognition Sutras reframed my understanding of awareness; Dr. Sharon Blackie, whose mythic and depth psychological writing in Hagitude illuminates the transformational power of midlife; and Dr. Joli Hamilton, whose Individuation Alchemy community has expanded my practice of curiosity and self-discovery. James Hollis’s insights in The Middle Passage continue to guide my understanding of adulthood and the profound developmental shifts of the second half of life. I also integrate lessons from Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead and Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic, which reinforce the courage and creativity essential to self-leadership. These influences inform Yoga Activated™ and my teaching approach, grounding it in psychological insight, embodied inquiry, and a belief in the lifelong unfolding of the self.
