Integrate the power of soft-tool science for yourself and clients using the Roll Model Method Therapy Balls
What to expect
This course teaches evidence-based self-myofascial release (self-massage) principles and practices to enhance mobility, reduce stress, transform pain, and build body awareness. It prepares you to program SMR rollouts for individuals, groups, and special populations.
1) Refine your anatomical fluency of bony landmarks, muscular attachments, and the fascial seam system
2) Learn the art of crafting test/retest scenarios to provide instant feedback of improved function or reduced pain
3) Improve Classroom demonstration of Therapy Ball techniques with innovative sequences for all levels of student ability
4) Learn a hands-off approach to provide touch-averse clients with an empowered method using low-cost, accessible tools to approach their self-care.
5) Integrate Science with Ball Sequencing by translating new fascia evidence into an exploratory application for therapy and performance using the Roll Model Therapy Balls.
6) Discover body blind spots by identifying and relieving areas of neglect to resolve chronic pain or movement restrictions.
Style/Lineage

By the end of this program, graduates will be able to…
- Describe the basics of pain physiology and fascia geography including bony landmarks, muscular attachments, and the fascial seam-system.
- Explain the "why" behind why we do certain yoga/fitness practices.
- Explain the "science of rolling"
- Sequence "Ball Choreography" in unique and original patterns to be applied to any individual or special population.
- Practice ball rolling techniques that penetrate into common high-tension areas. including the rotator cuff, upper back, neck, jaw, hips, lower back, IT Band, calves, and feet.
- Use therapy balls to deepen one's comprehension, understanding, and somatic awareness of musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology.
- Demonstrate soft-tissue self-care solutions for every client and condition while utilizing the four different-sized Roll Model Therapy Balls.
- Apply test/retest scenarios to individual clients to provide instant feedback of improved function or reduced pain.
- Create SMR rollouts for individuals, groups and special populations
- Teach touch averse clients an empowering method of self care using low cost, accessible tools for self-massage.
Requirements
Program evaluation
- Written exam
The are a series of multiple choice quizzes throughout the program. The Roll Model Method Exam is a 185-question multiple-choice exam, comprised of the Roll Model Book, The Massage Therapy Instructional Video (included in tuition), and the video content.
AYC Verification
This program will grant the following AYC CE badge after you verify your credential.

Products used in this course (not included in tuition): The Roll Model Starter Kit, The Roll Model Method Book, The Trail Guide to the Body, or other anatomy book. This course is best suited for Fitness Professionals, Clinicians, Massage Therapists, athletes, and self-care enthusiasts. CECs available: 1.5 NASM & AFAA CEUs, 15 CECs with IAYT & NPCP. This course is also eligible for 12.5 Transfer Credits to Prema Yoga Institute’s IAYT-accredited Yoga Therapy Certification
